It was a pleasure to attend the Global Education & Leadership Foundation (tGELF) conference in Rishikesh, India as a mentor to young Indian Leaders in August 2018.
Rishikesh is a beautiful city in the Himalayas beside the spiritual river Ganga and attracts thousands of people seeking to reflect on their busy lives.
The conference organisers quoted the words of Margaret Mead – “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed it is the only thing that ever has.”
I was impressed by the many meaningful initiatives started by young Indian Leaders in practical ways that could be scaled up to benefit many underprivileged millions in India.
The spiritual leaders of the Ashram, where the Conference was based, were very much involved in leading the sanitation revolution in India with Ministers, State Heads, policy makers and young leaders.
So, like The Beatles, who travelled to the same location in the 1960s, I shared my experience but was enriched by those I encountered.
